Nougat is one of the oldest sweets and, also for this reason, one of the most popular both in Italy, where its consumption is associated with Christmas, and beyond, where it is consumed year-long. Featuring a high energy value due to the great concentration of sugar but also highly nutritious thanks to the presence of almonds (50%), soft nougat can be considered a rich product made with poor ingredients (egg whites, sugar, honey). Ideal as a dessert after a meal or as a snack, it is also available in the variant covered in dark chocolate.
